These are wonderful! Nov 18, 2010
By LawMomMegan Amazon might not have the best price on these (I purchased mine at a local toy store for about 15% less), but the blocks themselves are fantastic! I got the "Read to Me" set (same thing, different pictures) when my oldest son was about 1. That was four years ago, and they still look amazing. None of the paper has torn or come unglued. The blocks are still perfectly shaped -- and my son has sat on them (although never stood on them). There are a few teeth marks from chewing, but it is a slight indentation, nothing that broke through the paper or scratched it off.
I actually love that they are made with cardboard. My son also had a set of wooden nesting blocks, but he never liked them nearly as well as these. These are delightful to knock over -- there is such a kapow! with the chardboard. Also, since they are cardboard, they don't hurt when they fall over and hit you (or your kid). They make a great kind of drum (each sounds a bit different). Since they are hollow, you can put things in them, put two of them together with something inside them and shake it. My son would put stuffed animals in the largest one and scootch it around. The pictures are great -- a wonderful talking point. The numbers are nice for counting as you stack or line them up in a row.
I am so glad I bought these four years ago because these are also a favorite for my second child (who is 11 months). I am ordering a set for my one year old niece for Christmas.

Cardboard for $20? Nov 25, 2009
By A. Crandall These are just hallow cardboard boxes covered in paper for $20! My son who is 2.5 can stack them in about 10 seconds, then gets bored with them. I wonder how long they will last. Either the paper is going to scratch or peel off, or he's going to step on one and it'll crunch. What a waste. Plus it would have been nice if there were more so he could build a fort or something.
