Our favorite book!!! Feb 16, 2009
By Rose This book is four smooth wooden pages with brightly painted scenes on each side. Each page has a hole in it that the mouse can fit through. The book is about 4 x 4 inches and perfect for either diaper bag or purse.
We got this book when my daughter was 11 months and she has loved it from day one. The pages were perfect for her clumsy hands to turn and could not be damaged as she learned to do so. The wood makes such as nice warm soft clank as the pages turn. We like to talk about the scene on each page and then let the mouse peek in or pop right through his hole. I can not count the hours of sheer delight this has produced! Think unrestrained glees and coos x2. This book has been invaluable on trains, planes and lots of quiet places . There's just so much to look at- scenes, colors, objects and that wonderful mouse.
This book has been put through it's paces... chewed, banged, tossed, cleaned, shared and even read too. It is hands down my daughter's favorite book. She's able to push the mouse through the holes herself now and still laughs when she gets him to pop out. She likes to slide him around on the pages and 'talks' about what he's doing. We've had it over 8 months and it still looks brand new. None of the pages are faded or damaged and the mouse himself is pristine.
We have so many board book that have been loved less yet show extreme wear, this book we will be able to proudly pass down the line. But not today, today it is very much enjoyed, beloved and on display in the nursery.

An interactive book and a great lacing activity Dec 10, 2007
By 3 polkadots This is a great little book to read with a baby or toddler. It has no words, but that makes for endless story possibilities. And as your child grows, he or she can make up the stories. My one-year-old son loves to see the mouse peeking through the hole on each page, and this offers a fine motor challenge if he wants to put the mouse through himself. If you are looking for early lacing board activities, this addresses those skills while incorporating a story. This also makes for a great little take-along book!

"disappointed grandma"
This book is the tiniest book I have ever seen. We don't know quite what to make of it either. My granddaughter has no interest in it at all and it does not even attract her as a teether. Waste of money absolutely.
