Ling from China Jun 09, 2010 Lovely doll, the internet picture dose not do justice, really looks chinese very skinny but easily posed, even her clothes look better in person, the shirt is velvet so looks better then just an orange t shirt with some sort of flower thing on it. Looks very collectible and educational, for children probaly over the age of 9 or ten depending on maturity as with all collectable dolls that is why I only gave 4 stars for fun, I am using her for display and I imagine young children messing her up kind of quickly even if not breaking her. Also her hair is so soft and lovely it feels real since she is display for me and I will not be brushing her hair that much I don ot know if itis as durable as American Girl but it is softer then their hair feels more real and I am a big fan of American girl historical dolls especially Rebecca, Kirsten, and Addy

Beautiful doll Jan 11, 2010 My daughter got this doll for her 8th birthday. My daughter wanted the asian doll most out of all the others. Ling is very high quality. She looks even nicer then in the picture. Im so glad we got a karito kids, and didn't settle for one of the cheaper dolls that target and walmart sell. A doll is a doll, but we have had cheaper dolls and after a few years the hair gets really ratted, and theres no way to brush it out after that point. I don't think this will be a problem with Ling. She also received the Zoe Karito doll, and is very happy with both of them.

Beautiful and authentic Jan 19, 2009 This doll and her clotnes are very well made and authentically featured. The doll comes with an engaging mystery and a passport, which enables the doll's owner to aid the charity of her choice. My nine-year-old daughter was thrilled to get this doll for Christmas.

A doll of beautiful detail and realism Dec 27, 2008 This doll is the doll that I should have gotten when I was a girl, but alas in the 1950's, all there were available were blond blue eyed Chatty Cathy's and Tiny Tears.
I gave this doll to my niece and it is by far her favorite. She loves it more than the Asian American Girl doll I gave her last year.
You don't have to be a minority to enjoy the beauty and craftsmanship of these great dolls.

A beautiful doll! Dec 26, 2007 I am a grown up doll collector. The majority of the dolls I collect are actually dolls that are intended for children's play. I have wanted one of the Karito Kids dolls ever since I first read about them coming out. Both Ling and Lulu were on my list. I received Ling as a gift and she is just beautiful! She is larger than I expected her to be. I thought for some reason she would be more online with a Sasha doll's size or an early Sylvia Natterer doll. But she is a bit bigger. Often when you see a doll in promotional pictures they are done up in a way that never translates well to real life - i.e. the doll you get can not possibly measure up to the one you saw in pictures. However, this doll is every bit as a beautiful as her pictures - even more so. I have not felt that way since I received my first Annette Himstedt doll in the mail. I recommend these dolls to adult and child collectors alike. They are extremely well made, solid dolls that are very reasonably priced in the world of doll pricing. It can be especially difficult to find good ethnic dolls and Karito Kids have definitely outdone themselves in that arena. I look forward to one day adding Lulu from Kenya to my collection as well.
