 Cute but a HUGE hassle to clean. Nov 26, 2010

I bought two of these for my daughter's lunches and they are a nightmare to clean. First, they always smell funny no matter how much you clean them, I even used vinegar but it only smelled good for a short period of time. Then, there is a silicone seal in the lid which you have to remove because its kind of hollow and food can get trapped in there. Putting the silicone seal back on the lid is a pain, then if you have to do it everyday, its a frustrating. Not to mention that you can't put these in the dishwasher and if any water gets trapped in the plastic parts, well, its pretty nasty. We tried not using the seal and ended up with mac n cheese liquid all over the lunchbox, which we ended up replacing. I'm a mom of three and do not recommend this because its way too complicated for an everyday thing.

After having scoured the internet for a thermos that my seven-year-old special needs daughter could open, ordered this one and loved it...at first. Here we are one month later and the seal no longer fits about the lid making it not waterproof. It has never been in the dishwasher but it has been used on a daily basis. Wondering if I can purchase new seals???

This kept a chicken, rice and green beans dinner hot from 7:45 until noon. My daughter thought she was the cat's meow with such a nice hot lunch, so it doesn't just work for soups. What a great way to diversify and be able to use up some of their favorite leftovers at lunch the next day. And, in her words "I'm so glad the chemicals aren't getting into my food". On a side note, it does fit right into the lunchbox with the drink bottle, even though you obviously won't want to put a cold pack with it. Quick shipping with Amazon Prime.

We bought this to go with my daughter's Ballerina Lunch tote and water bottle. The Jar looks cute and does keep the food warm, but cleaning is a night mare. It is kind of hard to get rid of the food smell from this though the container does look clean. Sometimes no amount of cleaning with soap removes the smell. So I put it in dishwasher once. Water got trapped in the jar through the hole and it is not been coming out. Even the lid is very hard to clean. Removed the seal/stopper kind of thing on lid to clean and it was a big hassal to put it back. I would not recommend it to anyone.

it does keep the food warm for solid 4 to 6 hours, it wont leak and it holds a decent portion for a hungry 18 mo old boy
