My son had his first day of kindergarten today and he was super excited to wear his awesome new dinosaur backpack! He even wore it during breakfast! Besides being adorable and made of quality materials(feels durable!), it's just the right size in terms of child to backpack ratio, and perfect size to accommodate papers and such sent to and from school. Not sure if it would work for kids older than 7 or 8 though. The lunch box that came with it did *not* come with a thermos like another reviewer had said, but no problem. It looks like if we want it we can order it separately. Overall, this is a nice, classic set and really stands out in a sea of tacky, over-sized, commercial cartooned crap. Crocodile Creek stuff rocks! We are all very pleased!

My kindergarten son and i LOVE this backpack and lunch box. They are so bright and no one has a backpack like his. Just perfect for a kindegarten child. Perfect size!

I purchased this for my Grandson entering kindergarten, and he just loves it.
Although not stated, the lunchkit does have a thermos.
Easy to identify from a distance also.
Material is a little thicker than the "plastic" fabric found on most of the cheaper priced bags.
I would definitely recommend this item for pre-school & up.
