Creanimaux are charming, colorful, beautifully made and loads of fun to play with. When I saw the bright blue elephant with the square white patch around one eye, I knew that I . . . I mean my four-year-old grandson . . . had to have a set. True, they are spendy. But the high quality finish, size and heft of the pieces, and clever design make them a toy that families should treasure for generations. When children tire of the regular animals, they can create new ones--perhaps an elephiger, crocobear or hipponocerus.
