Plan dollhouse furniture Jan 07, 2008
By T. Ramsey This doll furniture was a great investment...very durable...great craftmanship...my neice will hopefully get many years of play with it! All of the Plan furniture and doll house look very durable and you can tell it is great quality.
Mostly Pleased Dec 23, 2011
By At Home Mom I ordered several Plan Toy's dollhouse sets. Since the furniture isn't cheap, I opted for the Decor style vs. the Neo style, even though I like the Neo set better, and unfortunately, it costs more money. When I opened the Decor kitchen box, I was surprised to see that the furniture is all curved and oval shaped. Thus, the refrigerator (no shelves except a small space on the bottom)and the freezer can't hold anything--maybe a doll-sized fork would fit. However, on the plus side, a slimmer refrigerator means there's more space in the kitchen for a table and other furniture pieces. The sink and island pieces also have a curved exterior, and therefore do not actually "fit" together, but rather sit convex curve next to convex curve. A kid won't mind, but I am a trained graphic designer and easily find fault with design and functionality flaws in toys, the real world, etc...One last thing, the oven door comes unattached. You are given two tiny pegs to insert into the left and right sides of the door to secure it in place. We've had it for two days and already, today, the pegs fell out and the door fell off. So, I attached the pegs and this time, I placed a dab of glue over the pegs. Hopefully, that'll hold. My older daughter is six and I think this kitchen set will work out great for her. For a realistic effect, I like how the refrigerator has cute little handles. My younger one is 3 1/2, and still in a destructive phase. I gave her different furniture with painted-on details in the hopes the furniture would last longer, but maybe it'd be fine for someone else's young child.
