Wooden toy pleasure Jul 20, 2008 I got this for our daughter from Germany since I was looking for European made wooden toys not common in the USA. Aptly named him Franz and it was love at first sight for our daughter at 5 months. Franz and other wooden toys from Haba / Selecta are now part of her most coved playmates - she talks / babbles to Franz all the time. Great toys. Well recommended.
Wood toy Jul 10, 2008 This is a realy cute toy. The color is brite and cheerful. You can wiggle it to make a clacking noise that babies like. My Grandson likes to touch it's ears and pink nose.

Our son loves squeak-squeak... especially the crinkly ears Jan 14, 2008 Santa Claus brought several Haba toys to my son for Christmas this year. (I made a special request for 'no toys made in China' since he's eight months and puts everything directly in his mouth... like any self-respecting eight-month old child would.) Haba toys are just adorable, but I have to admit that the small balls (his hands) on Squeak-squeak cause me and my husband some concern; they appear to be on there VERY securely; however, they certainly put a lot of trust in that small rope. The Haba toys are extremely well made, but I still don't let my little one play with this toy without close-at-hand supervision. Some other great Haba baby toys options are 'Moby' (Colorful rattling fish... no arms) or Scalari (another colorful fish, no rattling, no small pieces to break off). Again, we've had no indication that any small pieces are coming off; I am just being overly cautious.

Choking hazard Aug 27, 2007 This mouse is adorable and my 6 month old daughter loved to play with it and suck on the ears and hands. I was concerned about the ball hands possibly falling off (the string holding them on doesn't come through the other side). After about six weeks of use, the hand/ball fell off when I tugged on it to see how it was holding up. Please note that I did not pull on it hard--just a gentle tug.
Haba has a great reputation, but I see here on Amazon that someone else (out of the 4 existing reviews) had the same experience. Please don't let your baby play with this mouse.
love the squeek squeek Aug 12, 2007 My daughter got this toy when she was seven months old and two months later she is still playing with it. She loves the clacking noises it makes when you shake it and she loves to carry it around by it's hand in her mouth while she crawls. I was worried that this toy might come apart but it's held up to my daughter's abuse. It is a little hard (solid wood), so it can cause damage when thrown. Luckily she's hit the dog only once with it. As a parent I have to say it's great to have a more "classic" toy made of wood that doesn't light up or make noises. My daughter prefers this over any noisy plastic toys.
