Years later, it still gets used Apr 11, 2010 We bought this for my daughter for her third birthday. She loved it and used it regularly. She will be six in four months and the she still uses the kit. Just yesterday she was giving her Zhou Zhou pets their flu vaccinations and bandaging them. The pieces are quite basic, not too "cutesy" so they transition well as the child ages. Every piece of the kit has held up wonderfully; the pieces still look new. The prescription pad was used up long ago, but she just uses her own note pads now. It is certainly an expensive toy and at first I felt a little disappointed. It was all very nice, but it did not seem like much for the money. Now, after seeing how well it has held up to my daughter's play, I am very impressed with it. This is a very high quality wooden toy that was built to last. How refreshing! Somehow I doubt the Zhou Zhou pets will make it this long.

Not worth the money Jul 12, 2009 Very basic and not that life-like. Purchased this one because I thought it would be more educational and sturdier. Definitely not worth the money. I was very disappointed.
Inspires Long Play Dec 28, 2008 Both my 3 and 1.5 year old love this toy. The older gets very imaginative pretending to be a doctor. The younger loves playing with the objects by taking the lids off and on, taking the shot apart and putting it back together, and putting everything in and out of box. He also models his big sister and and engages in some pretend play. My only problem was letting go of my issues with wanting to control the band aids and prescription pad, which my older child used up almost immediately. I love this toy because the tools are wooden and well crafted.

It looks like much more in the picture Dec 17, 2008 I agree with the other reviewer about making this at home. It is cute, and I am sure my daughter will appreciate it, but what a lot of money for not very much. It is also a very small tin - about 7 inches by 4 inches, with really just a few things in it. I bought it because it is not plastic. I wanted some quality - well I got it, but I definitely did not get quantity. It is really a measly little thing.

Take a look at the picture... Nov 26, 2007 While I like this toy, I think you could put this together at home by robbing your first aid kit. The pharmacy has syringes for giving liquid medication. You can grab an Ace elastic bandage and some Band-Aids while there. Small empty and rinsed medicine bottles would suffice for the ones shown. I think the little green pills are choking hazards. Necco wafers look sort of like medicine and are bigger. Post-It notes and a pencil could be used for the prescriptions. Of the gifts out there, this is one I would give for another child.
