My four year old is obsessed with the Haba marble run toys. We have a bunch of the sets and this is the only one that has disappointed us. A tiny hole broke in the center of the drum within a few weeks. Now it's a gaping tear. The paper is just not hardy enough- and taped up it doesn't make the same "ping". I think they could achieve a similar sound effect with a sturdier paper on the drum. For the price, we are disappointed.

Real drum makes a very satisfying thump to end any marble track, and a great way to keep the marbles from scattering. Setting up the feet for base and spacing them all properly can be a little frustrating for young kids. Might have been nice to have a single piece for the base, but then again working through the fine adjustments needed is part of the learning process. This toy does not offer any instant gratification, it requires experimentation and problem solving.
