Limited use! Jul 23, 2008
By thepolarbearclan
"dad of boys"
My sons are into building things - legos, standard unit blocks and anything they can get their hands on. They do like this set and didn't even need to look at the instructions to build the outside. Because of the odd dimensions of these Haba blocks, they cannot be integrated into other structures and thus put a limit of creativity. If the dimensions are consistent with standard unit blocks, they will get taken out more often to play. Also, this set has just enough blocks to make the pyramid in the picture, so there is no way to close the pyramid's "door". Could be better, but this is the only pyramid blocks we have found...

Great Toy - For Big Kids Too! Mar 10, 2008
By Sheila Cordova

This toy is excellent - the ability to change the interior for new mazes and hiding places for the mummy in addition to building the Great Pyramid is both fun and educational. My 6 year old loves it and can put it together pretty much by himself now - we had to read the instructions a few times but it is easier and easier with each build. I'm going to collect all the sets - they are great toys!

Great Building Set Nov 25, 2010
By Joe I got this set for my 6 year old nephew and at 7 we still bring it out, and enjoy it. The blocks are very high quality, although I was disapointed that it was made in China. In any case after the pyramid is built we use it as a centerpiece for our Egyptian role playing activities. We have a few mummies that we use and Egyptian or any figure to create dialogue and action. The scenarios we create are creative and imaginative. Our conversation leads to educational exploration. Building the Pyramid is great, but what comes afterward is equally important. My nephew has asked for the Roman Coliseum or Roman Arch. I'm looking into that. When I get them we can Include Julius Ceasar and the Romans in our role play. If we don't have ships to transport the Romans to Egypt, then we'll just teleport them.
Great Building Set Jan 10, 2009

We purchased this for our son for his 5th birthday as he is currently obsessed with ancient Eqypt. He loves it. We have built it multiple times, and he is already using this set with another Haba set he got last year. The Haba blocks are very nice, and its neat to have these unusually shaped blocks to use with all the others we have in the house. The Great Sphinx is a wonderful addition as well.
