This doll is absolutely beauutiful. She is a few inches taller then the popular 16 inch doll, but she could still share clothing ( it is just a bit shorter). She has a storybook about her and her life in Africa. A little pricey, but I would recommend her anyway.

I purchased this doll as a gift for my daughter. We have two other World Collection dolls (Zoe and Ling) and we like the quality of these dolls. Lulu's face is beautiful, and we really like the idea that each of these dolls has a unique face; in other words, unlike other doll companies, it isn't just the same doll with different colored eyes and hair, with different clothes. The face is actually a different sculpture, making the doll new with each country she represents. Would highly recommend this product.

I bought this doll for my daughter after I saw it in a store. I had a choice of several Kairto dolls, but I was taken with just how beautiful "LuLu" was and I loved that she was also athletic. I knew she was much more economical than an Am. Girl Doll (as are almost all Karito dolls). After purchasing the doll /but before giving her as a x-mas gift I started to worry if my daughter (age 5 1/2) would like her as much as I did. Our family does not share the same ethnic characteristics as Lulu from Kenya and I was wondering what my daughters reaction would be. It turns out that my "Anglo" daughter thought she was beautiful too, and commented on that for the next several days. After we got the doll out of the box I was able to see how well made the doll and the outfit are - very good quality. My daughter loves to dress her for daytime and then bedtime,(with extra outfits I bought)-good fine motor skills practice. We are only 1/2 way through the enclosed mystery book, which is not well written, but that is not a big deal to me. We are able to use the doll and her background in other educational ways, not just with the book. (Oh yeah - I am not a fan of buying a imaginative play item and then putting a child in front of the internet - so we have not explored the website yet.) I am very happy with this purchase, and highly recommend this doll to anyone.

This is a very beautiful dolls. We now own Lulu and Pita. They are both very pretty and well made. I love that they use different molds for the dolls so they have their very own realistic ethnic looks. Not the same doll just a different color. I love that 3% of the price of the doll goes to a charity that your child picks! I'm looking forward to getting Ling soon!

I found the Karito kids on a website by accident, and immediately became very interested. I am a big doll collector, and after 3 years of buying American Girls, I wanted to try something else. These dolls are stunning! I love the fact that their faces are very close to their ethnicity, and that they can wear the American girl clothes because I have so many of them, and the Karito kids outfits are very hard to find. I would definitely recommend these dolls. Haven't read the books yet, but will. Also have Ling from China(?), and she is as wonderful as Lulu.I know this is a newer company, and I believe they didn't realize how popular their dolls would be, because they are rarely in stock and often on back-order. At some point I hope that more outfits and furniture,and accessories become available. Until then, those items I will have to continue to get from American Girl.
