 Cute Workbench for toddler Nov 20, 2010

This is a very cute workbench! My 2 year old will have fun with it. However it is more for 12- 36 months, rather than 36 months + as the description says. Be sure to review the measurements as it is pretty small (but a good size for a 1-2 year old). It is very durable (it is wood and not plastic) and sturdy and everything works as it's supposed to. I have searched many toddler workbenches and this is the best one I have found for my 2 year old. I would not recommend it for 3 years+ because you can't really build anything with it but it is good for 1 & 2 year olds to hammer, saw and screw and unscrew things. Cute and fun toy for a young toddler. :)

Sadly, I have to change my review to a lower rating. I bought this bench for a Christmas present, and after six weeks of play, it has not held up.
I did a lot of research to find a workbench for my 18-month old son. I liked the EverEarth Workbench because it is made completely of wood (not the bulky plastic like Little Tikes and other brands). It is also non-toxic and has no sharp edges or heavy parts that could injure a small child (although it does have a screwdriver, which is blunt but could be dangerous if used unsupervised).
The bench was extremely easy to put together. I think it took me less than 10 minutes. The wood is well sanded, and the paint colors are bright.
I was surprised at how small the bench is. I posted a photo to the product page with a CD in the picture so that you can see the scale. It's only about a foot wide and maybe 15 inches tall. At first I was disappointed (I didn't read the packaging before ordering), but after my son began to use it, I realized it's the perfect size. He sits in the floor to play with it, but it doesn't bother him.
However, after extended play, the bench started to fall apart. The wood pieces are held together with glue, and the tops of the screws popped off. The bench itself has a vice, which has a small hole; my son got his finger stuck in it. The head of the hammer fell off after he used it awhile, and even the legs of the table would not stay in place. I wanted to love this toy, and my son definitely enjoyed it, but it just didn't last. I would not recommend it overall.
