This toy was well worth the money. The blocks are well made and very smooth. My son has had a TON of fun with making the castle and other things with these blocks. Love the fact that it seems we can get more blocks from the same place and the only limit is his growing imagination!

I bought these blocks for my Grand-daughter thinking they would be made in Germany. When the box arrived it says 'Design and Quality of HABA, Germany. Made in China" That was not what I expected and not in the product description. What a disappointment!!!

Excellent building blocks Jan 17, 2010

i purchased several Haba blocks sets for my seven year old who really likes to build. Haba blocks are absolutely great!!!!! My son creats different buildings and that keeps him busy for hours. I have tried to find something like that before in stores here in NC but all you can find are LEGO which my son does not like. Thanks Haba for this exceptional product and thanks Amazon for selling this brand.

I was expecting much more from the HABA brand. These blocks are not ideal for 3-6 year olds at all. The blocks are way too small to be used by those little fingers. This is not an educational toy, its an exercise in frustration. I mean come on-- a block sized 1 inch? We have the Melissa and Doug architectural set and that by far is a better value and quality than these. You can actually recreate some of the designs M & D show on the back of the wooden storage box. Good luck actually trying to make a medieval castle. I would not recommend any of the HABA building blocks for any kid under 6. Its just not a good value.

This was a Christmas present for my daughter. I tried twice to order different castle blocks on amazon and both times the order didn't go through. She is an avid builder, and is 7 years old. She got the Kathe Kruse castle dolls on Christmas, and waited two weeks for these blocks to come (the elves were behind schedule and left a note) we were very pleased with these, as the quality is great, and the dolls fit pretty well in the castles she builds. There are no directions to build the castle on the box, but that's fine, we could figure it out if we wanted to, but she just uses them the way she wants to. I like that better than a way more expensive wooden castle set! Only thing I wish was that the set came with more of the rounded pointy pieces. Those are a favorite and there are only two. She has a couple felt horses and a wooden dragon and they all came back to life with the new set! Love it!
