My 4-month-old daughter loves this. I admit it was smaller than expected but that turns out to be perfect for a newborn and small infant. She can easily hold on to it and snuggle up next to it and I don't have to worry about her being smothered by it (I do not put her to bed with this or any soft item though). In fact, she loves to have it dragged over her face and that's how my husband elicited her first smiles.
If she becomes attached to it, I'll order several to prevent a total breakdown if it gets lost or needs washing.

This toy is small, but it is perfect for a small child. My son started sleeping with it around 7 months and loves it. He holds on to the arms and legs and it helps calm him down when he goes to sleep. Great toy. Also, since it has no stuffing in it's body, it's super easy to wash.

My son just adores this new addition to his lovey collection. It is incredibly soft and not too girly like some other lovies. He sleeps with it up against his face and rubs the oversized ears and trunk when he's sad or sleepy. I would buy it all over again in a minute. Well made too.

Our pediatrician suggested that we get our daughter a lovey when our daughter was about 4-6 months old. We thought the pink elephant was adorable and put it with her in her crib. She is now 3 years old and, wow, what a wonderful thing this elephant has been for her over her life and still is. It has brought her so much joy and comfort! She sleeps with it right next to her face, inside her fist, with her thumb in her mouth. She has spent countless hours laughing with it, chewing its talk, talking with it, snuggling with it, and sleeping with it every single night and for all naps. Definitely buy more than one as a back up!! (Our daughter found one of the back-ups, though, and now sleeps with 2 of them, so be careful what you choose as your hiding place!)
The reviewers who said they were disappointed in the size and thought it was a waste of their money were missing the point. This lovey's purpose is to help a baby feel safe and secure..give a baby something soft and cuddly that he/she will bond with and will help him/her feel safe and snug wherever he/she is. it's not supposed to be just some fun big toy!

We got one of these as a gift...and My son took to it. He loves to hold the trunk of the elephant and even the tail and then bite on it. Its his bedtime buddy! We bought 2 more once I found them online. For easy washing and also in case one gets lost.
One mom on here gave me the best advice ever. Don't just put a second one away until one is lost, but rotate them every time you wash them. That way you won't have to replace their favorite worn out lovey with a brand new one. They won't want it!
