 "Noticing differences" is more like matching! Sep 23, 2010

This puzzle is beautiful and well made, but I'm really disappointed that the cat pictures are painted underneath the pieces. I thought my 2 1/2 year old would be challenged by having to "notice the differences". But all she has to do is match the pictures, so it's not the least bit challenging for her. I would probably not have anything negative to say though if I had bought it for an 18 month old.

This puzzle comes exactly as described. It is very well made and the packaging makes for nice gift presentation.
However... my son hasn't really played with it much. Perhaps he's still a little too young for it (item description says 24 months - 4 years and my son is 23 months old). I will keep pulling it out and trying!
I also agree with the previous comment that it has a very cool retro look to it.
I give it 2 stars for fun because my son isn't interested yet, but perhaps we will revise it later.
One thing for sure... this puzzle is very unique, and certainly different from the standard "Melissa and Doug" puzzles you see everywhere.

This puzzle is a great alternative to those animal barn matching puzzles! There is a real retro look to the puzzle as well. Very durable and definitely a great gift for any young toddler!
