A Sweet Little Cat . . . Jul 28, 2010

My daughter received the Under The Nile Slim Cat Toy for Twelfth Night when she was nine months old. Right away she enjoyed looking at and holding the kitty, probably because it is neither too big or too small and is, of course, brightly colored with lots of contrast. Now at almost 16 months old, Blue Cat (as the toy is affectionately called at our house), has become her favorite sleeping companion. He is rather hard for a stuffed animal - I could hardly call him "squeezably soft;" but I can't argue with the way her eyes light up when I ask which animal she would like to take to bed and she gleefully points at Blue Cat, chortling "'at, 'at!" Blue Cat also enjoys tea parties and makes a fine traveling companion - once again, he is not so small that he gets lost, nor so big that he takes over the car seat, and he is happy to dance along to any music one might happen to have playing! I guess that what I'm trying to say is that Blue Cat has been an excellent addition to our stuffed animal and doll family, and I would happily recommend him to anyone looking for an adorable and safe creature to give to a child.
Just for the record, besides Blue Cat, I have purchased several other toys and items of clothing from the Under The Nile company and I have always found them to be well-made and durable.
Additional info: Blue Cat has become our mostly companion on almost all trips and, consequently. he recently needed a little "freshening up." He went through the washer and dryer like a pro, emerging clean and cute as always; if anything changed, it actually softened him up a bit! I used a cold water, regular wash, and dried him on low heat.
