Although very cute, this set is too small to be of use except to very small toddlers. For our preschool children it was not appropriate. I sent it back to Amazon immediately.

These are just what I wanted. Made in America. No risk of lead paint. These appear to be unfinished. Very smooth. Lots of fun to play with. Nothing sharp on utensils.

The dishes were smaller than expected-- smaller than the plastic Lakeshore alternative. That said, they were so utterly adorable that my sister threatened to steal them for her daughter's kitchen set.

I purchased these dishes for my two-year-old granddaughter for Christmas. She woke up on Christmas morning to a table set just for her. Even though there were other gifts, she spent the day "having lunch" with her papa. The wooden dishes are sturdy and safe. I highly recommend them. Good quality. A little small but perfect for toddler hands and their kitchens. Good material and compatible with other brands of kitchen accessories.
