A classic!!! Oct 13, 2007

"It's Never Too Late to be what you might have been..."
You should see the shape our Supermind is in, after five years of use. The box is tattered, the cards are bent, and a few of the shapes have been replaced with cardstock cutouts. But to my mind, this is a sign of a well-loved activity!
Supermind develops spatial and planning skills, particularly if the kids put the blocks down incorrectly and must rethink how to make the picture turn out correctly. Like a ThinkFun game, the cards cover several different levels of play, so even older children will find it an engaging activity.
Anyway, I still have this game and plan to keep it a few more years. My youngest still plays with this, it can keep him happily occupied for 30 minutes while I am busy with the other children.
If your child enjoys this game, you might want to look at Tangrams as well. It is truly amazing how many different pictures you can create with 7 - or is it 9 - triangles.

What a great educational toy! Jan 28, 2009
By Flowerlina My 4 yr old son has never been into puzzles so I wondered if he would like this new way of puzzling with geometric shapes. Well he loves it and I love it too! It does get your child to think and use geometry in a fun way. A great tool to learn basic geometry. Another advantage is that it does not have an overwhelming large number of pieces. Its simplicity makes it so great. I highly recommend it.
The only recommendation to the manufacturer is to also offer a magnetic version. The pieces move a lot while little hands are working on the puzzle.

Good practice of reasoning and spatial awareness skills Aug 02, 2005
By Teacher Mom This is a tough thing to teach in schools these days with the push to teach to the tests. As a teacher, I want to at least expose my own children to these types of skills that teach them how to think.

Our 3yr old son loves puzzles and shapes, and though these are a little difficult for his age, I sit with him and make suggestions when he gets stuck. Eventually he will be old enough to make the choices and figure all the supermind sheets out on his own. For now he just enjoys finding places to put the shapes and is very careful about choosing which color shape should go where. We call the Supermind his "puzzle game" and he's always very enthusiastic when we get it out.

Children love this! May 23, 2010
By Denise Dean I bought this for students I work with - 4th & 5th Graders - and they are challenged by it and find it fun. I bought multiple sets and have even had kids race to see who can finish fastest. It is conceptually challenging, so, in addition to cultivating that capability, it also helps them develop perseverance.
