 Fun for little lacers Feb 21, 2010

We bought these for our 3-year-old for Christmas, and both she and our middle daughter, 5 1/2, adore them. The sturdy, durable cards feature eeBoo's trademark style illustrations -- dreamy but rich watercolors -- of sea and shore creatures. The cards are all paper-size -- which are easy for little hands to grasp -- but the clean-punched holes follow the outline of the creature depicted on each card. Color-coordinated laces are heavy weight and pretty. We have already had hours of fun with this toy. This will be one I do not pass along but hold onto for my children's children.

These cards are well-designed, with nice pictures of sea creatures to hold a child's interest. The colors are soft and muted, unlike many children's toys. The cardboard is heavy and the laces are solid and haven't frayed yet. Excellent for teaching habd-eye coordination and sewing skills.

My 4-year old daughter loved watching her grandma sew, so I bought her these lacing cards and they are a great "quiet time" toy! I also bought several for gifts for kids her age, and they all were a hit with kids and parents alike.

The cards are very sturdy. The lacing strings are shoelaces. My son couldn't complete a card at age 3 really, but by the time he was 4, he would sit and lace a whole card! What a sense of accomplishment for him! A fun activity for little hands!

This was tough for my 3 year old. Probably best for 4-6 year old set. Encourages hand eye coordination, very durable and lightweight so it's especially great to take on an airplane or in the car to keep them occupied on long trips. Highly recommend but not for 3 year olds.
