Gathering A Garden Jan 26, 2011
By D. White I bought this game as well as the eeboo Tea Party game and eeboo Phoebe and Iris Paper Dolls for my daughter's birthday. Both of my girls have greatly enjoyed these items. Gathering A Garden has lovely colors and illustrations. The characters travel around the board to get one item from each of five categories (birds, flowers, vegetables, herbs, and fruit trees) for their garden. As the description states, there are no plastic pieces. The characters have thick little cardboard cross pieces to make them stand up and the game also includes four extra cross pieces. I especially like the fact that the game includes a little cotton drawstring bag to place the pieces in after play so that they aren't scattered all around. The only reason I didn't give this game five stars (my daughter gives it a 100) is because of the spinner which, so far, is extremely stiff because it is made up of two pieces of cardboard that are tacked tightly together. Hopefully this will loosen up over time.

cute and fun Feb 05, 2012
By lavenderspretty this game has really lovely illustrations, and the pieces and board is made of really sturdy eco-friendly cardstock. My concern though is that the spinner doesn't spin. seriously, I've got to figure out how to make it spin so we can actually play the game! wish me luck! but if I can indeed get the spinner to spin then i would rate this game a 5 star.

stiff spinner replacement Jun 01, 2011
By hollyinberkeley I called the manufacturer 212.222.0823. The person with whom I spoke was very courteous and said she would put a new, improved spinner in the mail the next day.
Cute but boring to play Apr 14, 2011
By L. Klein Maybe it's because I am not five anymore, but this game is kinda boring. It's pretty, but my kids mostly play with the pieces, as the actual game is not all that thrilling.
Spinner doesn't spin Feb 22, 2011
By jennifer Adorable illustrations, thick well made cardboard and pieces, fun story idea are still not enough to make up for the fact that the spinner is too tight and therefore doesn't work. I have written the manufacturer several times, and still no response. Grr.
