 Fabulous learning game for young and old! Apr 18, 2008

This was a gift for my little girl's 3rd birthday. We liked it so much that we have given it to several other kiddos as gifts. It is fabulous for my 2-year-old as well. He is matching the pictures and playing along with his sister. I highly recommend this game in introducing Spanish to your children or strengthening their vocabulary.

Excellent Matching Game for Autistic Son Feb 07, 2009

I originally bought this for my tween daughter to study Spanish. But it is far too easy since the word & picture are on both the Bingo card & the "chip". So, I use it in a different way for my 4-year old who is autistic, visual learner. This game (we ignore the Spanish words) is excellent for matching, and since each card is a category of items (food, transportation, amimals, weather, color, and clothing), he learns to categorize. I prompt him to say the word (in English) and tell me which category it belongs to. He likes to play this game about 2 times a week. Very durable & colorful.

I bought this to help my 5 1/2 year to have more fun learning Spanish. It has been a great fun family game. We all enjoy playing this game. It is very easy and the pictures are great.

I'm Spanish teacher and I bought this game to play with my students to reinforce the vocabulary but this game have only one card. My smallest group has 6 students. I thought to return it but I didn't have time. I consider that it's not a very good game. I don't recommend it.

This bingo set is great for anybody learning Spanish, but I would say it is especially good for younger, pre-K aged children. I think in order for it to really work well you need to order the flash cards that are made to accompany it. I teach Spanish to a wide age range of homeschooled children and I recently started teaching 2 Preschoolers. A lot of the games I already have are for children a little bit older, or for children that at least already know how to read in English, so the games are easier for them. With preschoolers every thing must be hands on and with lots of pictures. These are the things I like most about the game...
1. The pictures are grouped into categories. Each Bingo card has only those things that are included in that category. For example, all the colors are on one card, all the animals on another, things from nature on another, etc. At first I didn't like this but after I started working with my preschoolers I realized that they needed to be able to memorize the things in each category first. So having each card only cover one category works out great because they don't have to memorize the entire pack of flash cards before we can start playing. Right now they have memorized the colors and they are almost finished memorizing the nature category so we can just use those 2 cards if we want. If all the categories were mixed in together I would have to wait a long time for them to memorize everything before we could even start playing.
2. The bingo cards are very sturdy and well made. They have a nice glossy finish and the colors are really nice.
3. It has a bag to keep and draw the chips out from.
What I don't like, is that there are only 6 cards. Right now it's fine because our group is so small, but if you are going to be using the game for a larger Spanish class it simply will not work.
