Beautiful as a fairytale, but where's my board? Mar 09, 2011
By MomToABeautifulPrincess My daughter also needs some more challenging puzzles, and so we added these and the Life on Earth 9 piece puzzles to our arsenal of toys. This set, in my opinion, is even prettier than the Life on Earth set, and the thickness of the board is impressive, but the other reviewer mentioned hers coming with a hard board to set the puzzle in and neither of my sets had such a board. I'm tempted to contact Eeboo and see what they say, but board or no board, these puzzles are gorgeous and beautiful quality.
Great puzzle for younger children. Dec 15, 2010
By Leorah My daughter is two and loves puzzles. The peg board puzzles are now too easy for her, and it was difficult to find puzzles that were more advanced than tha peg board puzzles and not too hard for her to do. There are a lot of 24 piece puzzles with no board that are too frustrating for her right now. It is too hard to tell where to start or how the pieces will go together. The nine piece puzzle with board is an excellent next step for her. There are just the right number of pieces (not too many) and a hard surface that contains the pieces as well. It also helps her understand the difference between a corner piece, an edge piece and a middle piece. Also, she can see how the shape needs to match as well as how the picture on the piece needs to go together, unlike the piece pieces which were more of a matter of elimination and matching pictures. The only other nine piece puzzle I have been able to find is Whinny the Pooh and Tigger. This will give her more variety!
